ABOUT US
The All Island Dairy Association (AIDA) was formed in February 2017 under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the leading business chamber in Sri Lanka. The Association was incorporated in May 2018 as a Company Limited by Guarantee registered under the provisions of the Companies Act No 7 of 2007.
The Chamber has taken the initiative to form the All Island Dairy Association to fulfill the long felt need to have an organized trade body to facilitate deliberations on matters of relevance to the dairy sector, reach consensus and lobby the concerns/ issues with policy makes.
The prime objective of the Association is to serve as the central forum for consensus building amongst all key stakeholders in the industry namely producers and collectors of milk, manufacturers, processors, importers and service providers. Promotion of high standards of business conduct in relation to all aspects of the dairy industry and improving the competitiveness of the local dairy industry in the marketplace are two specific objectives of the Dairy Association.
The membership of the Association comprises of individuals/ firms engaged in the above mentioned sectors in the value chain. More than 20 leading companies representing the sub-sectors of the industry have already joined the Association, while many others have shown keen interest to join the membership.
